The discovery of slowness

So this was the day: Climbing the Arlbergpass. Starting at 580m, all the way up to 1800m.
This world is unfair to cyclists
There is a tunnel at 1200m.
For cars.
For buses.
For trucks.
Not for cyclists
I had to go over the pass: Another gruelling 600m
Climbing
Pulling and pulling
Sweating and swearing
Stopping, having a Coke, starting again, having another Coke, or two,
Stopping, and……walking.
It was just too steep and hot. To avoid passing through dangerous tunnels, I used the old pass road, and this was really steep. So I had to walk and push my bike.
What a lesson!
All my life I tried to do things as fast as possible, and now: Walking!
And then Sten Nadolny and his book: “The discovery of slowness” I read it years ago, was puzzled, didn’t know what to think about it, but, I definitely loved it.
Now it´s my turn: I am slow
When I finally reach the top, my computer shows me an average speed of 12,5 km/h after 67 km suffering.

Down to Landeck.

My knees hurt
