In 2007, a internet initiative attempted to update the 7 wonders ot the ancient world. Chizen Itza, in Mexico's Yucatan state, was one of the winners.

Northern Yucatan is very dry and so the ruins are well better preserved than the ones I visited before. They are more recent than those I visited before as well.
